Following up on a report earlier this week that Hanover’s stucco mystery is unveiling itself, we find this morning that South Park’s controversial residential tower has almost completely lost its green garb. I eagerly walked closer to get a good look at what Downtowners have been waiting to see for months.

Ever since stucco was discovered as the economical facade finish of choice, a lot of critical opinions were tossed out. I had several of my own. Today I have to concede, however, the building doesn’t look too bad. In fact with all the glass and fresh white paint, it actually looks kind of… luxurious. And it should, considering it’s expected to have some of the priciest rents in Downtown LA when it opens early next year. I just wouldn’t want to be stuck in a bank-breaking lease there when the building starts to crack and flake away.
