city hall goes green

This blog has moved to Twitter! Check out my twitter feed for the latest restaurant, retail, and cultural news in the neighborhood.

City Hall Goes GreenApparently the mayor has taken the Green LA Climate Action Plan (PDF file) a little too literally. Either that or Villaraigosa is now a fan of nuclear energy. You never know.

UPDATE: I’ve just found that green LA girl wrote this morning that the city will be turning three local landmarks green: City Hall, Griffith Observatory, and the LAX pillars. And yes, it is some reference to going green and global warming/climate change.

My first impression was that it looked like Shrek green and I thought it was ugly. Now that I know the reason behind it, I’m even more turned off.
City Hall always looks so pretty lit up at night, and now it’s just putrid.

Jay,

I don’t think it’s permanent; it’s just a temporary thing.
