ucla extension opens new downtown campus
Next month, UCLA Extension is bringing more than 60 classes to a new Downtown campus near the site of its founding more than 90 years ago.
Classes are to be held in 13 newly-built classrooms inside the campus-like, but dated Figueroa Courtyard office complex at 3rd and Figueroa.
Course previews began this summer, though an official opening is set for September 4. Evening and weekend schedules will cater to busy Downtown residents and working professionals — covering a mix of studies ranging from urban planning to journalism to foreign language.
An open house event held on September 17 from 5:30pm to 8:00pm will offer a chance to meet instructors and tour the facilities. Attendees receive a 10% discount on course enrollments.
