retail relocations in chinatown create clustering
In the worlds of real estate and retail sales, those three words mean everything. And sometimes, a short move around the corner can make all the difference.
Apply that to the microcosm of Chinatown’s still-developing gallery-boutique scene, where disjointed new businesses are taking the strength in numbers adage very seriously — leaving behind less-than-prime locations to be next to their competitors/comrades.
Lions Dens, a shop for Asian-inspired apparel, sneakers and accessories, has completed its move from New High Street to the busy Central Plaza, quickly becoming Downtown’s alternate destination for cutting-edge fashion outside of the District.
An announcement made today says the clothing boutique will reopen in its brand new space Saturday, August 23 over drinks from 8:00pm to 12:00am.
In a similar strategic move, Sister Gallery departs the plaza for a better-suited space near other art venues on Chung King Road.
The official switch occurred on August 1, but work is still being done to ready the space for the inaugural exhibit on September 6.
A mini soiree with free drinks this weekend will make it official.
