“tinker toy” parking garage disassembly begins
Ever so slowly, Frank Gehry’s $3-billion city-defining project now dubbed “The Grand” is becoming a reality. Deconstruction work has begun on the dainty parking structure at 1st and Grand (across from Disney Concert Hall) to make way for the massive development.
Railing on the south side of the structure adjacent to the Colburn School has been removed, and reminds us all that February 7th’s groundbreaking event is less than a month away. UPDATE: The Grand Avenue Project has been delayed until early summer. More details here.
