angels walk pylons cropping up along figueroa

7th + Fig Retail Plaza / Ernst Young Plaza Angels Walk SignageTo complement blogdowntown’s coverage on the Angels Walk (outdated website) sidewalk wayfinding pylons, Ernst Young Plaza / 7th + Fig Retail Center was receiving its new marker this morning.

The series of new pylons being planted will educate self-guided tourists with photographs and narratives on the Figueroa Corridor‘s many historic, architectural and cultural landmarks, spanning from Wilshire Boulevard to the USC campus.

A concentration of beautiful old structures and pocket parks throughout the Mount St. Mary’s College Campus and USC-adjacent area alone make the walk worth seeing.

As Eric Richardson mentions in his piece, the Angels Walk tour is poorly organized and lacks direction. However, you can still enjoy all of the points of interest by picking up a free map and brochure at cultural institutions, information kiosks, and other gathering spots within Downtown.

Now that all this rain is clearing up, you have no excuse!

Other Angels Walk tours include Chinatown, El Pueblo/Union Station, Historic Core, Bunker Hill and Little Tokyo.
