‘project runway’ execs eye evo for season 6

Builders behind South Park’s Evo project can’t get construction wrapped fast enough — and not just because anxious buyers are ready to start their move-ins.
Executive producers for Bravo’s top-rated reality series Project Runway want to bring its sixth season — coast-hopping from Greenwich Village to Downtown Los Angeles — to the luxury tower at 12th and Grand. (A cable network deal struck in April states the show will jump to Lifetime Network after season 5 finishes its run on Bravo this fall.)
The building, no doubt chosen for its proximity to FIDM and the Fashion District, is busy adding finishing touches to portions of the interior and street level facade, but isn’t quite ready for occupancy.
Robert Arends, a publicist from JWalcher Communications who reps the tower explains, “They have to start filming in September, and it’s all contingent on Evo’s TCO permit, which we’re expected to receive on September 4. That might be cutting it close for their production schedule.”
He continues by joking that Evo may soon need its own agent for television bookings, since the property is also the focus of National Geographic’s LA Hard Hats, another reality show covering highrise construction drama whose next episode airing August 31 is titled “Race to the Finish.”
Can they make it happen in time? Apparently, everyone can tune in to find out.
The public grand opening of Evo is now scheduled for Sunday, October 5 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

Is this confirmed? I also heard last week that they were scouting top floor PH lofts at Pacific Electric.
Nothing’s confirmed yet. They’ve had to scout other L.A. condos/lofts in case Evo doesn’t work out this time around…
So does that mean FIDM will be filling in for Parsons? Kind of like like Target filling in for Barneys, no?
^It must be - which makes sense. But who’s going to fill in for Mood?!
Perhaps F&H Fabrics on Pico and Overland? I think that’s the name and location. Although I’m sure there’s no lack of fabric warehouse stores in the fashion district.
We’ll have to make the entire cast regulars at The Hideaway.
Michael Levine fabrics downtown is much bigger (and better) then F&H.
Ha! That’s a great idea. I’m sure Nick will tell them all about it
I would be so excited if they filmed at the PE Lofts, I would have a great view from my window across the street. I wuv wuv wuv this show.
Make it work!
Well thats good news.
Evo would be the logical choice…designer residence for designer fashion…plus they could walk to FIDM and the fashion district!
There is actually a “Mood” fabric store on Pico and La Cienega in Los Angeles. They opened a little over a year ago. Don’t know if it’s a sister store to the one in NY…Not impressed with their selection…Michael Levine Downtown LA is probably their best bet.
I fully support this move in the hopes I will meet Heidi
I came across a MOOD in downtown los angeles on Los Angeles St near 9th. It isn’t listed on their website so I am not sure if it is open to the public yet.
