Luma’s now-barren ground level will soon become much more “friendly.”

The previously unnamed Danish restaurant/lounge announced for the space has given itself an identity — Hygge — a term from Denmark which describes a comfortable and familiar environment.

New signs posted on the corner storefront at 11th and Hope yesterday advertise a “European-inspired” eatery with “modern cuisine” and a Danish bakery component.

The 6,362 square-foot restaurant will also feature live entertainment from a piano, acoustic guitar and/or a jazz singer in addition to a bar area, outdoor patio seating and late-night hours on the weekends.

Hygge is just one of several dining establishments hoping to reshape nightlife in South Park. On the adjacent block, Met Lofts is expecting a double debut this year with Bottle Rock wine bar and Rivera 26 filling their respective locations along 11th and Flower streets.

Around the corner from Luma on 12th Street, the Kor Group’s new headquarters building has a massive 8,580 square-foot restaurant bar in the works to join Flower Street Loft’s Palm Restaurant along Flower.
