angelenic is back
After a lengthy hiatus, a move to Downtown Los Angeles, and other life events, I’ve decided to bring back angelenic.
This latest iteration will be focused on Downtown community, business, infrastructure, architecture, people, and events.
I suppose I owe previous readers an explanation as to why I stopped blogging in the first place. When I first started blogging, I was living in the Valley and using the blog as a way to get my ass Downtown as much as possible. I’ve wanted to live here for a few years now, since I started going to court reporting school in Westlake (Los Angeles’s Westlake district, not Westlake Village). I then made a hosting move from godaddy.com to dreamhost.com, but what I had forgotten to do was back up my blog.
As you can imagine, it’s pretty heartbreaking to lose a year’s worth of very hard work. I kept the site registered with no posts or template for a while because I had every intention of blogging again soon, but once I realized that I was really blogging as an excuse to see things Downtown — and this was after I had actually moved Downtown — I just let it lay fallow. But I really do like to share my experiences with others, and the one thing I found out the last time was that there is a readership out there for community-focused blogging and news. Now that I’m settled in my new community, it’s time to get back to work.
Thanks to Ed at viewfromaloft (and now of blogdowntown as well!) for helping to inspire me to get back into things. At the recent picnic, I got to meet some great bloggers who actually had read angelenic before.? I’ve got a whole lot of work to do with themes, site banner and general site setup, as well an automated backup procedure…
So it’s with great fanfare — yeah, right =) — that I announce that angelenic’s back, and hopefully better than ever!
