quiznos opens today at market lofts

Quiznos is the last tenant to get up and running inside Market Lofts, opening its doors this morning at 10:00am next to Pastagina after long delays.

This is location number eight for the “toasty” sub chain in Downtown, and as commonplace as it is, a welcomed addition to the neighborhood still waiting for a lot that’s yet to come.

Quiznos will be open daily for lunch and dinner (including weekends), and completes the list of original retailers announced for the mixed-use project.

Market Lofts retail space is 100% leased.

Yay- they are finally open! I’ve seen people sitting outside Pastagina at 9:30pm so I think Quiznos will do well. A nice addition to our neighborhood.

indeed it is Ira. i’m sure all the chain-haters will disagree.

although it might have been nice to have an eatery in there that didn’t already have a few shops within walking distance. there are already quiznos at 7th/Fig and 7th/Flower!

And Subway at 8th and Flower.

It’s always nice to have some new places in the neighborhood, even if I’m not a big Quiznos fan.

I’ve given Quiznos a hard time on my blog – their construction has taken forever, at least 7-8 months it seems. For the last two months or so it seems they were doing fire alarm testing on a bi-weekly (sometimes weekly basis) which drove me a little batty since the alarm rang in our unit. It was also frustrating to walk by every day and see the general contractor sitting with his feet up on the desk for hours on end :)

Is the un-leased section talked about the piece the area next to Gas Co and IHOP? If so, it’s a beautiful room inside with some great features. Not sure what would go look good in there, but it reminds me of the base floor at the Reserve Lofts.

Now they just need to change the quiznos on 7th and flower to those hours. That place is always closed on sunday and closes very early on Saturday.

I agree there are a lot of Quiznos in Downtown already, but on the bright side having several within walking distance may prevent people from driving there instead. I hate it when people say “Five blocks away? That’s too far to walk…It’s too hot…blahblahblah…” :P

Brian- I think I know the place you speak of- arched ceilings and purple mood lighting? Cool space but kinda dark inside. I wonder what could go there. Maybe a haunted house for Halloween?

I wouldn’t walk 5 blocks for a quiznos sandwich.

Good news is now you don’t have to.

But are we talking about long blocks or short blocks? There’s a difference. There’s a difference.

i don’t like there sandwiches but i’m happy their open because they’ll hopefully stop with the fire alarm testing. i read brian’s comment and i feel your pain dude how annoying is that! i mean really how many times do they have to test it to prove it works. that sound is soooo loud it’s debilitating…..and why does it go off randomly at night for no reason? sorry i digress but i hate our alarms! i would wake up if it was only half as loud! anyways woo hoo for quiznos.

^ I hope we’re talking about city blocks and not suburban blocks.

I wish it was a TOGO’s or a philippe’s express

There’s a difference between walking 5 blocks for Quiznos and 5 blocks or say Panini Cafe. If I’m just gonna take the food to go, I can probably find somewhere else closer, or make something at home.

Ira: That’s the place – I don’t get the mood lighting but perhaps it’s left over from the previous tenant. Does anyone know what used to be in this space? I think it’s a great room with loads of potential . That block of Flower could use a sprucing up in some way though.

Jorda: The alarms get to me because I work from home – I’m glad it wasn’t me that was taken aback by the weekly testing. I know they had to come back at least once because they failed an inspection. As for the late night alarm back on June 19th I heard a pipe burst in Ralphs – but I’m not sure the alarm needed to go off on my unit for an hour for this :)

For those who hate walking, most Quiznos deliver now. On days I get stuck working-from-home, I just order online and the Quiznos at 5th & Olive will deliver to me in South Park.

mmmm… Toasty™. Love it.

It’s too bad Quiznos doesn’t taste good. (yes, a matter of my own opinion) Would much rather have had a Togo’s. How many Togo’s in Downtown, by the way?

“An unleased commercial space on the Flower Street of the building remains empty; no prospects are known at this time.”

That empty storefront space belongs to the back room of Cold Stone.
