latest la central rendering

LA Central renderingThe latest news on the LA Central front comes from Morley Builders. The project, at 11th and Figueroa streets and developed by New York-based Moinian Group, will feature two towers, at 54 and 40 stories (still unconfirmed from previous estimates at 45- and 33-story towers), a boutique hotel and 11 parking levels for residents and guests.

The latest project rendering shows a more refined aerial view than the initial renderings and subsequent rendering released last year, with a lot of focus on the smaller retail/entertainment/parking structure. A health club and Whole Foods are currently planned for the project. The previous “pedestrian paseo” that crossed diagonally through the site now appears just south of the taller northern tower.

LA Central hopes to feed off of and complement the success of AEG’s LA Live project across the street.

11 levels of parking!!! Gosh darnit! Can’t people utilize the Blue & Expo lines that are CONVENIENTLY located next to 11th & Fig. Can’t the City Council reduce parking requirements so we can have more residential/office buildings (that add life to a neighborhood) instead of a parking garage that offers no urban benefit.
