Green Papaya, one of the San Gabriel Valley’s most popular Thai cuisine restaurants, is spreading its fried rice and noodle deliciousness to the Mandel Loft Building on the tip of 7th Street’s Restaurant Row.

The Thai-owned and operated business is known for its huge selection of traditional dishes (including seafood, curries and desserts), almost all of which are priced under $8. Beverage options from cocktails with Jinro soju, wine, domestic/imported beers to Thai iced tea and boba drinks will also be available.

And in case the name piques any curiosity, Green Papaya’s papaya salad is apparently worth a visit alone.

No opening date is known at this time, but if you want an advance preview of what’s to come, their current location in Alhambra is on Valley Boulevard between Fremont and Atlantic.

YES!!! I’ve never eaten here, but it sounds awesome! I used to live in Thai Town and was so sad to leave all the great cheap Thai Food there. Charm and Authentic Thai over near Chinatown just don’t cut it as far as quality goes.

A quick search on chowhound suggests this could be good news for downtown foodies.

Excellent. The only Thai restaurants in the area now are those few in Chinatown. I can’t think of ANY that are in Downtown proper. Can anyone else?
