nyc’s bonchon chicken craze arrives in koreatown

This blog has moved to Twitter! Check out my twitter feed for the latest restaurant, retail, and cultural news in the neighborhood.

Bon Chon Chicken in KoreatownAll you faithful Korean fried chicken fans, the wait is over!

On March 8th BonChon Chicken made its official West Coast debut in Koreatown’s Royal Plaza at 6th and Catalina.

The chicken-on-demand hotspot offers “tasteful and nutritiously-enriched” crispy tenderloins in one of two flavors (Hot Spicy or Soy Garlic) garnished with a few non-fowl items such as pickled radishes, french fries, paz and soju in a bright, trendy setting.

Not familiar with BonChon? Think of it as Pinkberry… with fried chicken.

Yes, the Koreans have done it again.

Those are two things I hope I never have to think about together ever again!

i love that it’s right next to the a-team hair salon. i pity the fool who doesn’t get a good blowout.

Foodeater:

Ha! I know, but strangely, it’s an accurate comparison.

Do they actually serve chicken or cornish game hens? The Militant has been to Kyochon and is a fan of their tasty-but-diminutively sized chicken. Unless they serve plus-sized birds like oh, Pollo a la Brasa, the Militant’s gonna pass.

wtf @ “nutritiously enriched” fried chicken?! Like we need another thin veneer of an excuse to pursue obviously unhealthy foods!

I went here this past weekend, effing good stuff. Easily accessible from the Wilshire/Vermont Red Line Station as well.

We Koreans know how to make our food deadly addictive. It’s part of our diabolical master plan.

I’d have to kill you if I told you so shhhhh….. ;)
