angelenic’s community blog format a success
Looking for information on Downtown LA?
Angelenic is the essential news resource for those living, working and visiting Downtown Los Angeles. Check out our homepage for the latest restaurant, retail, and cultural news in the neighborhood.
RSS or email feeds make it easy to receive angelenic in your inbox every morning!
Who knew it would take hitting rock bottom before coming back stronger than ever? Well, that’s exactly the route angelenic has taken.
After deciding last week to keep the site alive and open the platform to the community, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Yesterday, 3,702 page views (recovering from a major dip after the scale back announcement) with a new high of 503 subscribers shows this new formula is going to be a popular move.
We’re attributing the success to all the contributors who have submitted excellent stories thus far, helping to boost this site’s coverage scope (and our morale).
A new author listing on the right side bar exhibits all contributors who have written at least one story. Writer bios will soon follow. As content increases, a site redesign to accommodate the growth is being considered.
We look forward to more penmanship and participation from all of you.
Congratulations on a job well done!

Great news!
I love the diversity of posts that I’ve seen in the last week— it is very exciting to see Angelenic’s evolution. Glad to hear that it is paying off!
Your success fills me with much happiness. Long live angelenic!
never stop posting :o)
I was wondering if you’d consider creating a tab for “shopping” right up there with “restaurants”, “construction”, “archives”, etc…
There are quite a few posts on new boutiques openings but they’ve been lost (scrolled away) to prolific blogging. A section that lists all the shopping and/or gallery related posts would be most welcome by me. :)
AUG:
Exactly why we’re considering a redesign to better organize the content. I personally think subsections for each post category is necessary for readers to better navigate the site and refer to older, but still relevant posts.
We’re open to more suggestions!
