Last time the topic turned political on angelenic, conversation and comments got a little heated. Therefore, I’ll preface this post by saying if Republicans were holding a similar event in Downtown, we’d cover that as well.

Tomorrow evening at The Edison, Hillary Clinton will be speaking to the tune of $500-$2,500 per head, benefiting the Obama Victory Fund. Jon Bon Jovi and his rock guitar pal Richie Sambora will rally up the crowd with a three-song performance before introducing the New York Senator.

The event is expected to begin at 6:00pm and last for two hours.

Those still in a groovin’ mood afterwards can head over to LA Weekly’s Detour Music Festival, taking place nearby at City Hall until midnight. Tickets are still available online and can also be purchased at the festival.

This is really terrific. Regardless of your politics, if you have an investment in Downtown LA you have to admit getting an event and a politician of this stature into one of our local clubs is truly a turning point.

P.S. - Go Obama! … sorry Angelenic, but it’s October before an election … heated cannot be avoided …

^ Believe me, I have no qualms with that =)

Neither do I, just leveling the playing field for the face-off.

In fact, with the VP debate last night, I expect some to use this post as a sounding board.

Good for the Edison. It will be madness around there as Detour basically surrounds the Edison. This must be a security nightmare for those guys. I’ll be at Detour, so it will be interesting to see how this all goes down.

With the impending passage of the bailout today in it’s newest form complete with over 100 Billion dollars added in earmarked pork barrel projects, I find it hard to support any of those bastards. With no mortgage relief included, little government oversight, and the nationalization of private business mistakes, I wonder how Hillary will spin this historic error to the donors on Saturday night. Save your money people, give to a local charity instead. The Democrats and the Republicans are on the same side…against us.

Hey, put me down for a dozen VIP tickets.
(Charge the ticket cost to “Pork” and bury in the bailout package.)

OK…now why hasn’t anyone asked: Why isn’t she visiting the Hideaway? After all it is this Saturday night? I’m sure you guys could be persuaded to play one of her fave tunes and really show her support for us.

Hillary, Detour, Dodgers, Neil Diamond @ Staples, USC game, and a forecast of rain. Does the Hideaway have valium specials?

I concur…

And LA Burning Man at the cornfield… what a weekend! I’m going to rest up tonite…

Unfortunately we could not get the credit needed for the said surplus of valium…

Believe me, as someone who’s been involved with the goings-on of the Obama Fund Raiser and it’s relation to all of the moving parts of all of the 9000 other events going on Downtown, The Hideaway will be a VERY welcome escape from the mayhem. I have a feeling that it will function just as well as a nice, juicy Valium, in and of itself. Bravo for returning this week, boys!
