This is a beautiful restaurant. I assume things are going well if they’re expanding to brunch hours?

I’ve eaten here twice- both times were a bit on the quiet. Someone previously posted that they should take it down a notch with the over attentive service. I would have to agree. It was weird having a guy shake my hand at the entrance and then pass me off to a hostess. Please, one greeter is enough! Once the staff settles in and acts more natural I think it will be great.

AUG..I have the same concerns as you. Been there a few times..always quiet. The big problem is the glass surrounding the restaurant. They need to take it down a notch so people can be seen from the street. It would help a big deal. Maybe even their restaurant name on the building would nice as well…

I think the service is great. I like that your not just a face coming in and spending money, makes me feel more at home.

I do have to agree that the glass outside does keep the public from seeing a restaurant is inside and yes a sign outside is very much needed.

Does anyone know what the brunch menu will be like? I didn’t see it on the website.

Not sure either, John. I can tell you it won’t be tapas!

it’s really a great restaurant. the food was delicious, the service top-notch, and the decor was tasteful while still being interesting. my favorite new place downtown by a mile. excited to have brunch there this weekend.

Wow, our good luck , to have arrived in LA at the same time as the opening of Tranquility Base. We have been in the restaurant business 30 years and take it from us, you have a winner on your hands. Food was great, service was great and the owner, David, could not have been more welcoming. We loved the patio, a wonderful feeling to be in the restaurant “outdoors”. Can’t wait until our next trip back to LA and enjoy more of the same.

Brunch ended by 1:30 due to kitchen issues including losing tickets, running out of dishes and glasses, etc. I have faith in them to get into the groove of things, but i’m going to give them a month before we go back. At least, unlike mode which instantly crashed and burned, their dinner is pretty solid and they have time to work on this, and an already awesome rep. Other than the service and little issues, the food was good. They do need to expand the menu a bit once they have everything handled…
