media coverageAs I was running errands around town this hot and oppressing Southern California day I saw a large crowd gathered at Pershing Square. There was a stage set up for members of the media (see photo, right).

When I realized it was the World Championship Boxing weigh-in mentioned in a previous post, I ran over to snap a few photos.

Just my luck, I arrived at the square just as they were weighing in De La Hoya and Forbes. If you look closely enough at the picture below, I believe that is De La Hoya in all his well-muscled glory center stage. As expected, the main event took all of 5 minutes. As soon as it was over the spectators began to disperse, but a few people hung around for the weighing-in of other contestants.
