Redwood Bar & GrillIt’s an episode of “Why didn’t they think of that earlier?” Downtown’s favorite pirate-themed bar & grill — okay, Downtown’s only pirate-themed bar & grill — now offers a special weekend brunch menu.

In a neighborhood famously lacking many weekend options, how can it get any better than dining on crab cakes or steak & eggs beneath decorative fishnet?

I’ve been told the menu isn’t final, so might I suggest adding Wench Toast, Arrr-tichoke Scramble and Blackbeard Burgers to the offerings? If not, we can still show some weekend love by trying out the new brunch hours, 11:00am to 2:00pm Saturday and Sunday.

Penelope and I are seriously considering brunching here on Sunday. Care to join us, neighbor?

I have always had great service and very good food here. I’ve been at least five times, both alone and with others.

Great menu names Rich! I am happy to see this option for Sunday noon-time fare. I definitely will try this as there are not too many options nearby my loft. Thanks for the tip! Eric

A local hangout for old government types. Many of the old timers liked it better when it did not have the pirate theme, however, I love it.

Great buggers and onion rings. Plus they will make a cherry coke by adding cherry sauce.
