what about wifi??
Funnily enough, that was the first thing I asked about. Sorry, no WiFi!
And sorry for the scattered availability on the site today.. my hosting provider is going nuclear on me.
celia and i had lunch here today, after dropping off wonton at the loftydog academy for a half-day of romping with other dogs at the park.
it’s a nice place, with the typical new-place over-staffing. the food was kind of pricy and kind of meh (and neither of us are coffee drinkers), but we’ll probably be back whenever we’re over there around lunch time.
Closing at 5pm is unfortunate. Hopefully that will change after they establish a presence and everyone knows where they are at. The Arts district needs a casual hang out that stays open at night. It seems as though everything closes when the sun goes down. I can imagine this Urth Cafe having a similar late night scene as the one on Melrose in West Hollywood. Hopefully that will happen.
5PM is way too early in my opinion. It’d be nice to have it open until 8 or 9 at least. Hopefully that will change. Great to have them in the neighborhood nevertheless.
Strange their web site doesn’t list this new location.

I’ve been over there all last week enjoying the free latte’s. I went today and had the yummy chicken curry sandwich and was personally greeted by one of the Urth Cafe founders. I already know workers names and they are all friendly and so far very accommodating. The prices are a bit steep, however not ridiculous, pretty much what you expect for the good quality. Since they are two blocks from my home and gallery, expect me there frequently. Welcome Urth Cafe.
no evidence of food on their website, I am assuming sandwiches and salads? My co-worker and I were going to go by for lunch yesterday, but decided not to since we didn’t see any food on the website. Anyone have a PDF menu or something? Send it my way please: frankie@indieprinting.com
The neighborhood is truly starting to solidify.
While my allegiance will always lay with Groundworks, I was very pleased by my visit to Urth. Clean, organic, and more hair-nets than a high school cafeteria.
