a look at what’s in store for l.a. live’s ‘lucky strike lanes’
This blog has moved to Twitter! Check out my twitter feed for the latest restaurant, retail, and cultural news in the neighborhood.
Bowling fans, get your shoes ready! The high-end bowling concept Lucky Strike Lanes is nearly ready for arrival at LA Live in early December.
With a location at Hollywood & Highland, the 18-lane Downtown venue will cater to the constant influx of tourists, conventioneers and Staples Center attendees, mixing bowling with a full bar, lounge and dining menu.
But it’s not just about knocking down the pins: After debuting its ‘LuXe Lounge’ concept in the chain’s Bellevue, Washington, venue, the high-styled “premium suite” with four private lanes, a huge projection screen and bottle service will be coming to Lucky Strike LA Live as well.

Does anyone know how many lanes the entire Lucky strike area will have? That is my one gripe about the one in Hollywood, you have to wait 2 hours, even at 5 PM on a Sunday to bowl. Its ridiculous.
Alex: The Downtown location has 18 lanes plus four for the private LuXe Lounge. That contrasts with 12 at Hollywood & Highland.
Looks like that bowling alley has a dress code.
It’s just gonna be filled with overweight tourists from the midwest drinking beers and eating pizza.
Looks nice. I can definitely see Hollywood using these lanes for a scene in a movie. Looks very “Ocean Elevenish”.
Rich, Lucky Strikes Lanes and Lounge at L.A. LIVE will feature 18 lanes TOTAL, 14 in the main area, four in the private room. They will also have two pool tables.
Loft LA, you’re mighty presumptious.
^ Thanks for the clarification.
Looks great!
It will be pretty cool the first few months. Good luck trying to convince hot chicks all dressed up to take off their high heels and put on neon bowling shoes. Does bottle service include your own can of disinfectant? Nice fancy clubs and bowling doesn’t mix.
I’m glad downtown’s getting a bowling alley all its own, but it’s a bit too posh for my taste. I’m more of a Shatto 39 Lanes kind of guy.
Can u tell me how to apply for work at this great place, or places opening up in December. please send info to email listed above.
thanks edward
THE DRESS CODE IS VERY SUSPECT,,,HOW THE HELL DO YOU BOWL IN DRESSY ATTIRE? THE BOWLING ALLEY IS IN THE HOOD/USC AREA….WHITE FOLKS DON’T DRESS UP FOR MUCH, AND COLLEGE STUDENTS AT ALL, I’D LIKE TO SEE THE PERSON WHO DECIDES IF OR IF NOT YOU ARE ALLOWED IN TO THIS HIGH END BOWLING ALLEY, AND ARE CELEBRATIES GOING TO BE ADDRESSED IN THE SAME MANNER WHEN IT COMES TO THE ” DRESS CODE” SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING THAT NEEDS TO BE REVISTED.
kim, you’re an ass. “white folks don’t dress up for much”.
