In another addition to Los Angeles’s Chinatown area, Homeboy Industries’ headquarters building that includes Homeboy Bakery and Homegirl Cafe is confirmed for an October 2 grand opening.

homeboy bakery/homegirl cafe to open october 2 1684674591_e863fb30a7_m downtown los angelesLocated at Alameda and Bruno streets (northeast corner of Alameda and Alpine, where Alpine becomes Vignes), the two-story modern building replaces a former dirt lot under the Gold Line viaduct to Union Station. The building is one block south of the Gold Line Chinatown Station and is a short walk from Union Station.

Aside from activating a former deadzone in a pedestrian-unfriendly area of Downtown Los Angeles by its simply being there, the building is designed to meet the sidewalk with several retail entrances facing Alameda and Bruno. I couldn’t find information on which architecture firm designed the building, but I would appreciate any information.

Im a young teenager and like everyone i have messed up alot and i guess i was headed the wrong way but i realized it on time. Im happy for these people that made up their mistakes and they got a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance because bottom line…no one is perfect.

Loved the cafe food, the bakery and gift shop. You Guys and Girls go - good job - everyone was friendly and service was great.
