downtown ralphs now open until 2am

Angelenic is the essential news resource for those living, working and visiting Downtown Los Angeles. Check out our Downtown Los Angeles RalphsThe Downtown Ralphs is now open until 2am!

It is apparently being handled as a test run; so that means that it's especially important for all us late-nighters to stop by in the wee hours of the morning and convince them with our wallets/purses/pocketbooks that they need to go 24-hour. I'm not recommending staying up past your normal bedtime just for this reason, though.

Obviously, expanded hours means more people walking in the neighborhood late at night, leading to safer streets for all Downtowners. I've been in the Ralphs at all hours, weekday and weekend, and it's always bustling. Next stop: 24-hour operation.

-Back in July I took a photo of the 6th/Grand Starbucks' hours, which stated "We will soon be changing our store hours." I've waited for a couple months, and upon calling today, the hours are still the same: Mon-Fri, 5:30am - 6pm; Saturday, 6:30am - 1pm; closed on Sunday.

These hours don't reflect the current hours that people are Downtown and should be expanded. Being closed on Sunday is a joke. Delano Lofts and Library Court, being within a block of the Starbucks, should have some impact on hours by providing a built-in customer base. I hope Starbucks will choose to be a good neighbor and will consider expanding hours.

-Also of note is Robeks Juice's opening in the Hikari at 2nd/Central.
