la center studios successfully luring long-term tenants
Warnaco Swimwear Group — a division of The Warnaco Group, Inc. — has signed a long-term lease for approximately 38,000 square-feet of office space over two floors at Los Angeles Center Studios in City West.
The apparel company — owner of several highly recognized brand names, including Calvin Klein, Speedo and Chaps — plans to relocate its swimwear group headquarters from the East Coast to the new offices by September 2008.
Warnaco states the company selected the indie Downtown entertainment campus to give its employees a centrally-located, creative environment with access to public transportation and convenient amenities. Be Well Spa and Flix Cafe, a colorful and contemporary full-service restaurant, are two of the newest additions to the 20-acre facility.
Over the last year, the production studio has signed approximately 60,000 square feet of new extended-term leases with expansions by existing tenants Film L.A., ePrize and Creative Kingdom, in addition to a new deal with Ronin Entertainment. Other entertainment-related and creative companies continue to be sought to fill the remainder of the 12-story Tower Building, which contains a total of 450,000 square-feet.

An east coast company chose downtown “to allow its employees a creative environment with access to public transportation and convenient amenities”. I love it! Word must have reached the other coast.
