Good job to all. Can you do anything about the street lights on 7th between Broadway and Spring, south side of the street? I've sent several requests to the LA Bureau of Street Lighting both by email and phone, but nothing. They were working as of a month ago, but after the city workers did some maintenance to one of them they are now all out. Strange, no?

Dig the power! Angelenic at work!

For obvious reasons, the Wilshire Standard is my favorite streetlight. Since 1928, those beauties have stood over Wilshire, but what once stretched from downtown to Fairfax now ends at Park View. The Wilshire Standards beyond MacArthur Park were sadly replaced with the ubiquitous cobra-head version.

If anyone want to take a closer look at those giant Wilshire Standard lanterns (and their caryatid nymphs with bobbed hairstyles), walk over to City Hall as there's one on display in its lobby.

Great job guys. This is the power of blogging.

I had complained about the madness on the north side of the Pershing Hotel on 5th and Main at my blog. Miraculously, two days later, there were video cameras facing east on 5th between main and Los Angeles.

For some reason blogdowntown has failed to get the Automated Public Toilet at 4th and Hill working . Maybe you guys should do a write up on it.
