details on cgv cinema coming to coutyard madang
A film industry look at South Korea’s largest multiplex chain — coming to Koreatown this November — was provided by Variety late last week.
According to the publication, CJ Entertainment’s CJ CGV chain set up CJ CGV America Holdings back in 2006 to operate its first subsidiary in the United States.
The company plans to expand throughout seven or eight major domestic markets, beginning with its initial location near Wilshire and Western — conveniently accessible to Downtowners via the Metro Rail Purple Line.
The 648-seat, three-screen boutique theater will run 45% of its flicks out of Korea, 45% from Hollywood and 10% from the rest of Asia.
Along with Woo Lae Oak restaurant, the cinema will anchor the four-level, 100,000 square-foot Courtyard MaDang nearing the end of its construction phase.

As usual, I appreciate the continuing Koreatown coverage.
