Zocalo LA, along with the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West, are presenting “Will Grand Avenue Live Up to the Hype?” Tuesday at 7:00 PM, in MoCA’s Grand Avenue facility.
I’m hoping the presentation will be informative and at least provide an idea of when the project will break ground (currently set for an undisclosed date in December). Hopefully we’ll see some more refined project renderings and a more detailed plan of what will become of the Second Street side of the project, which has been criticized by many as receiving the short end of the pedestrian improvements stick.According to Zocalo’s calendar, the presentation will include speaker slots for Related Cos. president Bill Witte, architecture critic Christopher Hawthorne, UCLA urban planning professor Dana Cuff, and Downtown councilwoman Jan Perry.
