this weekend’s hideaway targets all ‘recessionistas’
The Vice Presidential debate is over, Washington has passed the financial bailout plan, and The Hideaway — returning Saturday, October 4 — is giving you a weekend stimulus package.
The terms? No cover, $6.00 drink specials all night, no line, comfortable outdoor cabanas, and a dance floor with live deejays spinning the hottest electro-house, pop, top-40 and dance beats around.
Come out tomorrow night with some friends, gay or straight, and join a friendly social scene. If you haven’t been down to The Hideaway, we encourage you to escape the usual scene and try something a little more laid back. Put on your red shoes and “let’s dance!”

supper club creates community, benefits businesses
As you know, Downtown is abuzz with new restaurants debuting almost weekly. Amidst the booming commercial market, a restaurant may get lost in the shuffle by no fault of its own. Angelenic certainly does more than its fair share of plugging, but one loft community in particular has adopted a way of ensuring new restaurants get their time in the spotlight.
The Santee Supper Club, created by Community Manager Andrew Ruiz, invites tenants of Santee Court to taste Downtown one new restaurant at a time. An email list, word of mouth and flyers inform the residents of a date, place and and suggested time. The rest is up to them.
Over 45 residents showed at the last location, Tiara Café, giving Ruiz the thumbs up to continue organizing the community project.
