Downtown Los Angeles Skyline at Night

lot 44 coffee begins brewing this monday

Lot 44 Coffee, Downtown Los AngelesCoffee lovers, Wi-Fi junkies and neighborhood boosters, pay attention!

This Monday, May 5, java guru Ariel Graham is opening her highly-anticipated Lot 44 Coffee during a two-week soft opening event.

The neighborhood coffee bar (located inside the Douglas Building at 3rd and Spring) will serve as the flagship store for the new chain which will eventually expand throughout Southern California.

Graham’s brand is defined by high-quality, handcrafted drink selections utilizing organic, pesticide-free beans imported from estate and small lot purveyors.

“Our espresso beverages are not made with an automatic machine where you push a button. They are skillfully made, old school, where the barista is trained to pull a properly extracted shot and milk steamed to a frothy perfection,” she says.

Ingredient-conscious chocolates, muffins, scones, cupcakes, cookies and light confections will also be available to patrons looking to grab-and-go or linger over free Wi-Fi.

Soft opening hours beginning Monday will be limited (7:00am - 5:00pm or 6:00pm daily) explains Graham, who views the time as an opportunity to iron out operational kinks and get acquainted with residents. However, she’s quick to clarify that later, “hard” hours will kick in after the grand opening, slated for mid-May.

Downtown residents looking to support home-grown businesses such as Lot 44 Coffee should consider stopping by next week to sample those top-notch goods. For those of you who scoffed at the cup bar prices, go for tea or the house blend.

Grand Opening Hours:
Mon: 7:00am - 8:00pm
Tues-Fri: 7:00am - 10:00pm
Sat: 8:00am - 10:00pm
Sun: 8:00am - 8:00pm

I would love if a coffee shop like this would open up in my neighborhood! Organic coffee and free wifi, sounds good to me.

Welcome to the neighborhood! I’m so excited because it’s on my route to work. I also like the later hours as well. Maybe if we all go in the evenings it will stay open even later too. And it’s also on the way to the weekly Sunday Flea Market…yeeeha!

No Grand Avenue but nice organic growth in the Historic Core. It’s worth the tradeoff….

I am so there!! Looking forward to having great coffee in our town. Right now I buy my beans from Mudtruck in NY. If Lot44 can bring it I’ll be hanging out there all the time.

Great to hear it is opening. Next week when i go to the ImaginAsian Center i will make a stop afterwards.
Back in 2001 my friends and I use to frequent the Abbey when it was cool, before the “breeders” started over taking it..lol
Any ways this “homo” drinks more coffee now than liquor. I’ve grown up and matured…lol

As a part of the Lot 44 opening, I hope to see you all there. I am one of the shift leaders for this excellent coffee house.

We are totally different from your standard and stale starbucks store. We are starting the new trend in coffee business, coffee by the cup. Like I said, I hope to see you all come in the store when we are open!

Very excited to serve you, Travis

Go try their chai latte. It’s made with soy milk- tastes spicy and fantastic. The neapolitan cupcakes are yummy too!
