’shits & giggles’ may have permanent party pad
After a productive discussion last week on angelenic of potential nightlife venues to host Downtown’s new social “party” for alternative lifestyles, organizers say they may have a winner.
740, a newly remodeled club space at 8th & Broadway inside the historic Globe Theatre, will be accommodating Shits & Giggles in the upstairs ballroom tonight — and if all goes well, will become the permanent home for the weekly event.
“It seems to fit the best,” says DJ Victor Rodriguez who has been working hard to make the function a success. “We did not have a lot of choices and it’s bigger than we wanted, but it gives us room to grow.”
Curious residents put off by the transient nature (which may have come across as secretive or elitist to some) of the “underground” party may be allayed by the move.
As organizer Chris Bowen exclaims, “If all goes well, there will be no more emailing - just come and have fun!”
Shits & Giggles starts tonight at 10:00pm, $5 cover charge at the door.

Friday’s party was fun, but the bartenders/bar is stingy with the booze. They measure out one ounce per drink and charge you $10. Be sure to drink at home first.
$10? I got two drinks for $12 - guess it depends on the order.
Hey All
Thanks for all the support you have giving us, we are really grateful. There were a few issues with the bar last week as well as the parking. The lot next door decided to double the price to park. The owner of 740 said they were kind of shady. There is still $5.00 parking on 6th and Main.
And as far as the Bar goes The club owner said that we would be able to have more drink specials this week, and we should have our Tito’s back to. The rep took off to Coachella and forgot us
So you all should be able to get your drink on a little easier on friday, you know we trying to watch out for a sista!
