Feeding the evolution of the Industrial District into a progressive, well-rounded neighborhood, Untitled (Gallery) held its grand debut on Saturday, bringing a collection of established works from famed artists around the world.

“It’s the kind of stuff you see in museums, not for sale in LA galleries,” says Biscuit Company Lofts resident Noah Stone who attended the opening event. “They have an amazing collection of vintage art books including an original Warhol book for several thousand dollars.”

Gallery owners Matt Chait and Chris Nelson, two musicians with art dealing experience in New York City and an eye for subculture sophistication, are working to continue bringing reputable collections to the Downtown art scene, now comprised mostly of local artisans.

High-end photography, album cover artwork, artist-designed skateboards, coffee-table books and a limited selection of furnishings complete the gallery’s offerings.

“Our goal is to have original creations by established artists in all price ranges, from a hundred dollars up,” states Chait who hopes to capture some casual retailers.

But if you’re looking to browse some of those museum-worthy pieces, this month’s exhibit features work by: Richard Prince, Andy Warhol, Jean Michel Basquiat, Ed Ruscha, Sol Lewitt, Raymond Pettibon, Cindy Sherman, Lawrence Weiner, Wesley Willis, Ben Murphey, Fiona Banner, Robert Longo, Damien Hirst, Araki and Dieter Rot.

That’s right, in the Industrial District.
